Ja n 20 01 Casimir energy and realistic model of dilute dielectric ball

چکیده
Casimir energy of a dilute homogeneous dielectric ball at zero temperature is calculated for arbitrary physically possible frequency dispersion of dielectric permittivity ε(iω). There are no divergences in calculations because in the realistic model of dilute ball atoms interact at distances greater than average interatomic distance λ, so λ is a natural physical cut-off. It is proved that Casimir surface force is attractive. ∗E-mail: [email protected]
